Substation Transformer Dismantling & Buyback
Large substation transformers and related equipment can be difficult to remove because of their size, oil content, location and environmental considerations. EPS dispatches experienced crews throughout the United States to dismantle, remove and recycle qualifying equipment at utility and industrial sites.
Transformer Buyback Program
EPS' Transformer Buyback Program (TBP) is designed for qualifying utility and industrial customers with retired substation transformers. EPS can evaluate recoverable metals and dielectric fluids and, when the equipment qualifies, provide payment as part of the removal and recycling project.
Ancillary Substation Equipment
Projects can also include related equipment such as oil circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switches and other qualifying substation assets.
Experience with Extremely Large Equipment
EPS has dismantled two transformers weighing approximately two million pounds each.
Safety, Environmental Risk and Liability
Dismantling projects are planned around site safety, equipment condition, oil management, PCB status, transportation and final disposition. EPS's objective is to reduce risk while moving the material efficiently into documented recycling or disposal channels.
