Electrical Equipment Disposal & Recycling
Commercial and industrial electrical equipment eventually reaches the end of its useful life through age, failure, replacement or facility changes. EPS helps customers remove these assets from service and route them through appropriate disposal or recycling processes.
Responsible Disposal for Retired Equipment
EPS specializes in failed and retired commercial and industrial electrical equipment. The service is intended to reduce landfill disposal where recyclable materials can be recovered and to manage potentially hazardous materials through appropriate treatment and disposal methods.
Recycling Metals and Components
Electrical equipment can contain valuable steel, copper, aluminum and other materials. EPS separates and recovers reusable materials where practical, reducing demand for virgin raw materials and supporting circular-economy goals.
PCB and Non-PCB Equipment
EPS has the capability to handle both non-PCB and PCB-contaminated electrical equipment. Older equipment that contains or may contain PCB dielectric fluids can be tested and routed to the appropriate EPS disposal process.
Typical Equipment
- Transformers
- Circuit breakers
- Voltage regulators
- Switches
- Bushings
