Transformer Recycling & Disposal Services
When transformers reach the end of their useful life, proper disposal involves more than removing a piece of equipment from a site. Oil, metals, PCB status, transportation, documentation and final disposition can all affect cost and liability. EPS provides a comprehensive transformer recycling and disposal solution for utilities, industrial facilities and other equipment owners.
PCB and Non-PCB Transformers
EPS can process both non-PCB and PCB-contaminated transformers and related electrical equipment. Our custom-built furnace system is designed to process transformers, circuit breakers, switches, bushings, voltage regulators, reclosers and other qualifying electrical equipment while destroying PCBs and other hazardous contaminants as required by the applicable process.
Recovering Value from Retired Equipment
Transformer recycling can recover copper, aluminum, steel and other materials for reuse. EPS evaluates recyclable metals and dielectric fluids as part of the disposal and recycling process, helping customers reduce waste and, where applicable, recover value from retired assets.
A Documented Disposal Process
EPS uses proprietary recordkeeping systems to track materials received for disposal or recycling. Customers can receive documentation that supports internal environmental programs, audits and regulatory compliance requirements.
